Why do we reject simple solutions to our problems when they present themselves?

Why don’t we go for simple?

Well…..

1. We’re attracted to complexity and we think we’re missing out on something if it only has 2 steps in it as opposed to 12
2. The simple solution is not always the easiest..and we think that simple, by definition, should be the easiest.
3. If we see something that’s unfamiliar, we automatically get suspicious. We think that money and investment options should be complicated and we become wary of simple solutions.

There are many simpler and more effective financial solutions out there- but they may look different.

We need to change our thinking and stop assuming complexity will always solve your problems, when simpler options may be staring you in the face.

We get too used to tradition and how things should, look, work etc.

We need to allow for more revolutions and disruptors to enter the market, not fewer.
